Faces
These mixed-media ceramic sculptures explore the public vs. private (hidden) faces that make up our identities. Each one is an assemblage of forms that change shape given the characteristics of the media within. Some of them incorporate numbers; these digits represent the passage of time, as well as the changing ways we represent ourselves as we age. The metallic and reflective glazes, as well as the shiny metals included within some of the sculptures, demonstrate individuality and expression via a multiplicity of words and emotions.
